Founded in 1783 as the Grizzleheart Home for Wizarding Waifs in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Eaglesclaw began as an orphanage for children displaced by the Revolutionary War. By 1793, it had transformed into America's most community-focused school of magic.
Unlike boarding schools, Eaglesclaw is a day school where families participate in their children's magical education. To Ordies (non-magical folk), our campus appears as an old church on Union Street.

Founded by Gretchen Grizzleheart, who started the orphanage that became Eaglesclaw. The bear guides those who are strong of heart and fierce in protecting others. Masters of Enchantment magic.

Founded by Leopold Lammasador, war hero who provided magical fog cover for Washington's Delaware crossing. The lion calls to those who are noble and valiant. Masters of Evocation and Defense magic.

House Merdock
Founded by Madora Merdock, explorer and sea captain who used her wealth to transform the orphanage into a school. The mermaid guides adventurous spirits. Masters of Divination and the mystical arts.

House Snowbeak
Founded by Sebastian Snowbeak, a self-taught Shapeshifter who could transform into an owl. The owl watches over those who seek wisdom through observation and patience. Masters of Transmutation magic.
